Overcoming Problems

Cleaning

your conservatory (or PVCu windows and doors)
Over time your conservatory will invariably collect dirt and grime and can quickly lose that 'just-built' look. We suggest you clean the outside of your conservatory 2-3 times a year, particularly the roof.

The windows and doors are easy to clean using a mild detergent and water and perhaps normal household glass cleaner, however the roof is slightly different because of difficult access.

Under no circumstances should any abrasive cleaner be used on any part of your conservatory.

There are specialist PVCu cleaning products available, for more details try these links:

Welguard have advice and PVCu and glass care kits.

Decorating direct have a product suitable for cleaning very grimey PVCu frames.

The roof tends to be where most of the dirt settles and of course is also visible from inside looking up.

We strongly advise you not to attempt to climb onto the roof for this purpose.

Although the roof should support your weight if walked on correctly, the combination of water, soap, etc. could be very dangerous.

Roof cleaning has posed problems over the years but various companies have produced extendible cleaning equipment specifically for the purpose.

These extendable devices can be obtained from several sources and we have links below to some suitable web pages by way of example.
