Conservatory Comfort

Because of the very nature of a conservatory with the large area of glass involved, the ambient temperature inside can differ greatly from your actual home itself.

Where your home can be ventilated and heated effectively when required, your conservatory, because of its structure, can differ to a much greater extent to the point where ventilation/fans and normal heating are just not enough to maintain a pleasant living environment in your conservatory.

This is an area where we feel you should take more than just a passing interest. Over the years we have heard of many cases where conservatories have been built to the customer's specifications only to find that it is too hot in the summer and resulting in an unliveable area instead of the comfortable extra room they were promised.

South facing conservatories are particularly prone to this.

Conservatories are available that are designed to tackle the extremes of temperatures, keeping you cool in summer and warmer in winter. These were designed in the U.S. where they know a thing or two about extremes. The secret is mainly in the glass construction and when fitted to a conservatory it does give you the room you were promised all year round, at a cost, though (approximately 1.5 to 2 times the cost of a normal PVCu conservatory).
