Conservatory Comfort

Fans

The Scandinavian approach to fans is to aim them at the ceiling. This cools the warm air that has collected around the ceiling and will eventually cause the cooling air to fall to ground level. They also keep all the windows closed to stop warm air entering but leave a minimum of ventilation.

A ceiling hung fan of at least 12 in diameter is recommended for this purpose.

Floor standing and portable fans are more suited to localised air cooling.

Floor standing and portable fans are readily available from most DIY/Home furnishing stores along with some basic ceiling hung types.

Ceiling fans are also a decorative feature and chosen with care can greatly enhance the overall appearance of your conservatory, many also include lighting.
