Examole of Underfloor Heating
Under-floor Heating

An excellent way to heat your conservatory with nothing showing above floor level apart from a small thermostat control.

There are 2 main systems used, electric cables similar to an electric blanket and a warm water/pipe system that is buried beneath the floor.

The second type may require some extra pumps, etc. to be fitted or in some cases can be run straight from your existing central heating system.

Again, here are a few sites that specialise in these heating systems.

Nu-Heat specialise in warm water underfloor heating.

FloorHeatech specialise in electric underfloor heating systems

UFH-UK Ltd supply a range of underfloor heating systems including one specifically for laminate flooring.

I think it would be wise to give this serious thought as you choose what style of conservatory might suit you. It can be fitted at a later date but by using your imagination you could appreciate what extra work/cost there would be involved.

Insulated floor panels

As the name suggests these boards don’t actually heat but insulate your room from the cold concrete beneath.

Consisting of a sheet of tongue and grooved chipboard bonded onto a layer of polystyrene foam.

This board is laid on top of the concrete floor and provides an instant flat, sound surface to cover with your chosen flooring.

Very effective means of insulating your conservatory floor.

Kingspan Insulation Solutions manufacture Thermafloor insulated chipboard.

Essex Insulation Ltd suppliers of Thermafloor.

Heat Exchange Units

Combine heating, cooling and air purification in one system, see our Air Conditioning page.

Please note
Due to building regulations if you extend your central heating system into your conservatory, it will no longer be classed as a conservatory and you will have to apply for planning permission.
The heating system you install in your conservatory should be controlled from the conservatory.
