Design Ideas
What's the use?
How you plan to use your conservatory can affect the design
you need |
Here at IPenda we always
encourage our customers to think very carefully about - "What
they want to use this extra room for?"
There are such a huge variety of uses that
can be adopted and each could make a significant difference to the
construction requirements.
You don't want to find that your calm and
relaxing haven, created for you to escape the teenage children,
is far too cold for you to use during the winter months.
Sufficient Insulation and
Heating should
be incorporated into your design. |

Some
people just want an occasional space, to relax
during the warm summer months, they may not require expensive heating
systems.
However, Ventilation
and Air Conditioning
should be looked at, depending on the location of the conservatory,
you may need more than others. You don't want to discover that your
brand new conservatory is far too hot and humid to use and the
only ones benefiting from it, are the insects!!
Watch how the sun moves across your
development plot and look out for sources of shade, such
as neighbouring properties or trees, which may supply shade at certain
times of the day.

Away
from the norm!!
Conservatories extending out from
the kitchen or dining room are becoming more and more popular.
They will provide a lot more living space and bring sunlight and
air into your home.
These "Infills"
(shown in the picture) can change an area of dead, wasted space
between two buildings, previously used to hide your wheelie bins,
into a bright, modern and functional living space.
However, a conservatory should not look like
just a "Bolt on", make sure you match brick work and rendering,
make it look and feel as though it's always been there.

More
and more people are now working from home, so if
you want a pleasant, peaceful place to concentrate on earning your
millions, or just somewhere for the kids to do their homework. A
conservatory could be transformed into a great home study.
Just try not to be distracted by
the squirrels!
If this is your intention, electrical
power points, lighting and security
should be considered during the planning stage.
You can let your imagination run
free and create the conservatory that suits your individual
tastes and needs.

If
you would really like to move home, but for some reason
are unable to at this present time. Adding a conservatory, if carefully
planned, could give your home a new lease of life!
It will probably, If the work is completed
to a high standard, increase the saleability and value of
your home.
It’s a smart way to add extra living
space to your property, which can totally transform your home, giving
a wonderful sense of light and space.

Think carefully about your interior
layout,
if you put the external doors in the front
of the conservatory, this can create a "corridor" effect
and limit your useable space for furniture etc. It may be better
to position the doors on the side, close to the main house wall
so as to minimise the interruption of throughflow traffic.

requirements, as you may need approval, But don't be scared
off by this prospect, it may sound daunting, costly and
time consuming, but it's not that bad really!
If it means you get your conservatory
exactly how you want it, it will all be worth it!
And of course any good installing
company can take care of all of this for you! |
